Electric Motorcycle FAQs

These high-output machines are not ordinary electric bicycles. Their power and speed are far beyond the EU EPAC limits of 250W continuous assistance and a 25 km/h cut-off.

Public-road use normally requires the relevant motorcycle type approval, registration, insurance and rider licence. Unless a specific model is registered and approved for your country, treat it as an off-road or private-land vehicle. Always check national and local rules before riding.

Use motorcycle-grade protection rather than ordinary commuter cycling equipment. At minimum, wear a full-face motocross helmet, goggles, gloves, knee and elbow protection, and boots that cover the ankle. A chest and back protector is strongly recommended.

Match your speed to the terrain and your experience. High torque can arrive immediately, so new riders should begin in the lowest available power mode.

Manufacturer range figures are best-case claims measured under favourable conditions. Real off-road range depends heavily on rider weight, speed, elevation, surface, temperature, tyre pressure and how often full power is used.

Fast trail riding can consume energy much more quickly than steady low-speed testing. Compare battery capacity in watt-hours and treat the headline range as a maximum, not a guaranteed distance.

An EU-style e-bike uses pedals and limited electrical assistance. The electric motorcycles in this collection use motorcycle-style controls, high-output mid-drive systems, long-travel suspension and off-road wheel sets. They are designed around throttle-controlled performance rather than assisted cycling.

Warranty terms differ by brand, model and component. Check the warranty information on the individual product page before ordering. If you need clarification on motor, battery, controller or frame coverage, contact us before purchase and we will confirm the applicable terms.

About Electric Motorcycles

Electric motorcycles and electric dirt bikes are built for a different job from pedal-assist e-bikes. They use high-output mid-drive motors, motorcycle-style controls, full suspension and off-road wheel sets to deliver immediate torque on trails and private land.

Choose by experience and terrain

The ZAWES S3 is the more compact starting point, with 5,000W peak power, 255Nm of torque and a 60V 23.4Ah battery. The 79BIKE Falcon GT steps up to a 72V 40Ah Samsung battery, 16.8kW peak output, 610Nm claimed wheel torque and a 95 km/h manufacturer top-speed claim. Both demand proper protective equipment and responsible throttle control.

Battery capacity matters

Compare batteries in watt-hours rather than voltage or amp-hours alone. More watt-hours generally provide more usable energy, but speed, acceleration, hills, soft ground and cold weather can reduce range dramatically. Manufacturer figures should always be treated as favourable-condition maximums.

Off-road unless specifically approved

These machines sit outside the normal EU electric-bicycle category. Public-road use can require motorcycle type approval, registration, insurance and a suitable licence. Unless your vehicle has the approvals required in your country, use it only on appropriate private land or closed courses with permission.
