Best 13-Inch Off-Road Electric Scooter Under €1,200

When a 13-inch scooter makes sense—and when it is too much machine
The APEFOX T90 combines 13-inch tubeless tyres, a 60V 31.2Ah battery and a large dual-motor chassis. These are useful for rough ground, distance and heavier riders, but its roughly 54kg weight and road-use restrictions are real purchase decisions—not fine print.

Quick verdict
€1,099 with code AX100 · Xvelo list price €1,199 · €100 saved
For a rider who can store a large scooter at ground level and has somewhere lawful to use its off-road capability, the T90 is a compelling 13-inch option under €1,200. For lift-dependent commuting, train travel or a guaranteed road-legal urban runabout, it is the wrong format regardless of price.

Why buy a 13-inch off-road electric scooter?
A larger rolling diameter meets the edge of a shallow rut, loose stones or broken pavement at a shallower angle than a small wheel. In practice, that can make the T90 feel less nervous over imperfections. Its tubeless tyres also allow a puncture to be handled differently from an inner-tube design, although they are not puncture-proof and correct pressure still matters.
The tyre does not create grip by diameter alone. Tread, pressure, surface, rider input and suspension determine traction. A deep rut or slippery root can still stop or deflect a 13-inch wheel. The advantage is margin on rough terrain—not immunity from crashes.
The price of this advantage is a bigger, heavier scooter with more tyre to manoeuvre at walking speed. If your trips are short, flat and mostly smooth, the T90's wheel size may solve a problem you do not have.

What 60V 31.2Ah actually buys you
The nominal calculation is straightforward: 60V × 31.2Ah = 1,872Wh. That is a large energy store, but it does not translate into one fixed riding distance. APEFOX advertises up to 100km; that is an upper-end manufacturer claim under favourable conditions, not an independently verified everyday result.
For a more honest route plan, divide 1,872Wh by assumed energy use. At 25Wh/km the mathematical result is about 75km; at 35Wh/km it is about 53km; at 50Wh/km it is about 37km. These are illustrations, not controlled T90 test results. High speed, dual-motor starts, hills, soft dirt, cold weather and a heavier total load can consume energy faster. Never plan to use every watt-hour; leave a return reserve.
The manufacturer lists one 60V 5A charger and roughly 7–8 hours to recharge. That means overnight charging is the practical pattern; do not assume a quick coffee-stop top-up will refill this pack.

Is the T90 a good electric scooter for heavier riders?
APEFOX lists a 150kg weight capacity, but that is a maximum load rating, not a guarantee of identical range, acceleration, hill climbing or braking at every rider mass. Include clothing and carried gear in the total. Near the rating, leave greater distance to brake, reduce speed on broken ground and expect more energy use.
Its dual 2,100W rated motor labels and single/dual drive selection provide traction and climbing potential, but peak output numbers do not tell you sustained performance under heat or repeated long climbs. The 160mm hydraulic discs and front/rear suspension are particularly important here; they support control of a heavy scooter carrying a heavier rider. Proper setup and maintenance still matter.
Fit is personal. APEFOX lists rider heights of about 160–200cm; measure your stance and reach rather than treating that as a perfect-fit promise. You should be able to stand with knees slightly relaxed, reach both brakes comfortably and shift weight without stepping off the deck.

The large chassis: stable on a trail, inconvenient on stairs
APEFOX specifies an expanded size of approximately 141 × 63 × 136cm and folded size of 141 × 63 × 68cm. Folding reduces height, not the 141cm length or the weight. At about 54.2kg before accessories, this is not a casual one-person carry up several flights of stairs. Measure your doorway, car boot, lift and storage space before paying.
This is also why “rugged scooter” should not be confused with “easy commuter.” Large wheels and a long platform can feel reassuring at speed over uneven ground, while the same dimensions become awkward in a crowded hallway or on a train. A heavy machine takes longer to correct after a steering mistake. Start in the gentlest power mode in an open, permitted area, test both brakes at low speed and learn its balance before exploring faster riding.

Brakes, water and ownership checks
Before the first serious ride, inspect tyre pressure, wheel fasteners, steering and folding hardware, brake lever feel and rotor alignment. Bed in the hydraulic brakes on a safe surface. After muddy rides, clean and inspect rather than allowing grit to sit around moving parts. The manufacturer's IPX5 marketing refers to splash resistance, not permission to immerse the scooter or pressure-wash electrical components.
Ask where you will source tyres, pads and repair support. A large-format scooter is only good value if you can keep it maintained. Charge on a dry, hard surface using the supplied charger and follow the battery manual; avoid charging a damaged or wet scooter.
Can you ride this powerful scooter on public roads in Europe?
Check the exact national and local rules, insurance and registration requirements before buying for a public commute. Do not treat cycle paths, forest trails or unpaved public routes as automatically permitted. If you intend to ride on private land, obtain the landowner's permission and use protective equipment appropriate to the speed and terrain.
Who should buy the T90—and who should pass?
The T90 makes sense if you…
- Specifically want 13-inch tyres and roomier stance for rougher permitted routes.
- Can use a 1,872Wh battery enough to justify the weight.
- Need a manufacturer load rating up to 150kg, including carried gear.
- Can store and maintain a roughly 54kg scooter without stairs.
- Understand the road-use limitations in your location.
Skip this format if you…
- Need a scooter you can routinely carry onto trains or up stairs.
- Expect a guaranteed 100km range from fast dual-motor off-road riding.
- Need a vehicle proven road legal for your city commute.
- Prefer low-maintenance, small-wheel urban portability over rough-ground capability.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best 13-inch off-road electric scooter under €1,200?
For the specific combination of 13-inch tubeless tyres, 60V 31.2Ah battery, dual motors and €1,099 price with AX100, the APEFOX T90 is a strong candidate. It is not the best choice for every rider: weight, storage and local road rules can disqualify it.
What is the T90 price at Xvelo?
The current list price is €1,199. Active code AX100 saves €100 on the T90, bringing the price to €1,099 before any checkout-specific adjustments. The purchase links in this guide pass the code to Xvelo; verify it at checkout.
Does 60V 31.2Ah mean 100km of real-world range?
No. It means a nominal 1,872Wh battery. The 100km figure is a manufacturer maximum. Terrain, speed, rider load and temperature determine actual distance.
Is the APEFOX T90 suitable for a 150kg rider?
APEFOX lists 150kg as maximum load. That includes carried gear and is not a promise of unchanged braking, climbing or range at the limit. Confirm fit and ride conservatively.
Is this the T90 Ultra?
No. This guide covers the standard APEFOX T90 with a 60V 31.2Ah battery. T90 Ultra listings use a different 72V platform; do not transfer Ultra specifications or test results to this model.
Are 13-inch tyres puncture-proof?
No. Their tubeless design changes how certain punctures can be repaired, but pressure, tread condition and correct maintenance still matter.
Can I use the T90 on public roads?
Do not assume so. Check the rules and vehicle-approval requirements where you will ride. A speed setting or lighting system alone does not establish legality.

Final call: is the T90 worth €1,099?
Yes, if you want its large-wheel, large-battery format and can genuinely use it. The AX100 code reduces the €1,199 list price by €100. It is a poor bargain if you cannot store it, need to carry it daily or need a straightforward public-road commuter.
