There is no honest single “best” dual-motor fat-tyre bike for every European rider. A 26-inch adventure bike, a 20-inch folding bike and a higher-power trail machine serve different needs. This shortlist uses three models with current published offers under €1,500 and separates advertised specifications from road-use eligibility. Three candidates below €1,500

1. DUOTTS S26 — full-size value and practical rear rack

Price: €1,169 listed at XVELO, €1,159 with code xvelo. Its published 48V 20Ah battery, 26 × 4.0-inch tyres, rear suspension, hydraulic brakes and rack suit mixed surfaces and ground-floor storage. The compromises are roughly 39.8 kg weight and a version question: EU and International configurations must not be treated as interchangeable. 2. CMACEWHEEL RX20 MAX — compact folding alternative

The maker currently advertises an RX20 MAX listing around €1,299 before its separate promotional code. The key difference is its 20-inch folding format, not just motor output. It can fit storage situations where a full-size S26 cannot, but check folded dimensions and weight before calling it portable. Its advertised 25 km/h setting and CE references do not settle ordinary public-road classification; verify continuous rated power and throttle behaviour for the exact delivery configuration.

3. DUKAWEY BST-6 — spec-led upper-budget option

DUKAWEY currently lists the BST-6 at about €1,399, with a 17.5Ah/840Wh battery and headline 2 × 1000W output. It is a reasonable candidate for buyers who value its design and stated output more than the S26's larger nominal battery. Do not compare only motor wattage: ride position, brakes, warranty, service and whether the exact version can be used where you ride matter just as much.

What did not make the under-€1,500 list?

A model that is currently unavailable, above the budget once delivery is added, or not actually dual-motor is not a valid “winner”. XVELO's F26 page displays sold out, and its Shopify inventory currently marks all N26 variants unavailable. Both remain useful comparisons, but neither belongs in a “buy now” shortlist. A single-motor dual-battery model is also a different category. We would rather show three conditional candidates than pad this list with imaginary deals.

Which should you choose?

  • Full-size comfort, battery and value: shortlist the S26.
  • Storage-constrained buyer: investigate the RX20 MAX folding measurements.
  • Power-first buyer near the ceiling: inspect the BST-6, then check its battery and legal classification.
  • Public-road commuter: get documentation for the exact configuration. A 25 km/h menu limit is not proof of ordinary pedelec status for any of these bikes.
