Frequently Asked Questions
E-scooter rules vary significantly across Europe and change often. In Germany, private e-scooters need ABE certification and insurance and are capped at 20 km/h. In France the limit is 25 km/h on cycle lanes. In some countries private e-scooters are still not permitted on public roads at all.
Our scooters ship with a 25 km/h factory speed limit. Higher-output models are intended for off-road and private-land use. Always check your national and local regulations before riding.
Every range figure we publish is a best case, measured under favourable conditions. Real-world range is always lower and depends on rider weight, assist level, terrain, headwind, temperature and tyre pressure. Cold weather in particular cuts range noticeably.
As a rough guide, plan for around 60–75% of the headline figure in everyday mixed riding, and less again if you rely on a throttle or ride hilly terrain.
Lithium batteries last longest when they are not stored at extremes. Avoid leaving the battery at 0% or sitting at 100% for weeks; around 40–60% is ideal for long storage. Charge indoors at room temperature, use the supplied charger, and avoid charging straight after a hard ride while the pack is still hot.
Treated this way, expect several hundred full charge cycles before you see meaningful capacity loss.

About Off-Road Electric Scooters
Off-road capability on a scooter comes down to three things: tyres that can find grip on loose ground, suspension that keeps them in contact with it, and brakes that still work when everything is wet. Our off-road range spans four machines, from a €419 entry point to a dual-motor flagship.
Where each one stops being enough
The T10 (11-inch off-road tyres, steel frame) handles gravel paths and rough tarmac — a first off-road scooter. The T10 Pro adds a second motor and hydraulic brakes, which is the point at which loose climbs stop being a problem. The APEFOX T90 is the flagship: dual 2100W motors, 13-inch tubeless tyres, hydraulic suspension, and a 1,872Wh battery good for 100 km. The T30 takes a different route — three wheels, for riders who want stability and load capacity over outright speed.
Dual motors are the real dividing line
A single-motor scooter drives one wheel. The moment it loses grip — wet roots, sand, a steep loose climb — you stop making progress no matter how much power the motor has. Two driven wheels keep pulling. It is the same reason 4WD exists on cars, and it is the single upgrade that most changes what a scooter can do off-road.
Read this before you buy
The higher-output models here are well beyond the EU's 25 km/h / 250W definition of a road-legal vehicle. We supply them for off-road and private-land use. In most EU countries, riding one on a public road or cycle path without type approval, registration and insurance is illegal. Please check your national rules — and wear proper protective gear.
