Frequently Asked Questions

In most EU countries, no — provided the bike is a pedelec (EPAC): a motor rated at 250W continuous with pedal assistance cutting out at 25 km/h. That is the legal definition of a bicycle under EN 15194, and it needs no licence, registration, plate or insurance in the majority of member states.

Models with higher output or a higher top speed fall outside that definition and are supplied for off-road or private-land use, or require moped type approval. Each product page states which category it falls into. Check your local rules before riding on public roads.

Every range figure we publish is a best case, measured under favourable conditions. Real-world range is always lower and depends on rider weight, assist level, terrain, headwind, temperature and tyre pressure. Cold weather in particular can cut range noticeably.

As a rough guide, plan for around 60–75% of the headline figure in everyday mixed riding, and less again if you rely on throttle or ride hilly terrain.

Lithium batteries last longest when they are not stored at extremes. Avoid leaving the battery at 0% or sitting at 100% for weeks; around 40–60% is ideal for long storage. Charge indoors at room temperature, use the supplied charger, and avoid charging immediately after a hard ride while the pack is still hot.

Treated this way, you should expect several hundred full charge cycles before you see meaningful capacity loss.

All products at Xvelo come with a 2-year warranty covering the frame, motor and battery. Every unit is inspected before it ships. If something is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will sort it out.

About Duotts Electric Bikes

Duotts is the range to look at when you want more bike for the money — bigger batteries, branded components, and full suspension at prices where competitors are still fitting basic forks and unbranded packs.

Where the money goes

The E26 pairs a Bafang motor (80Nm) with a Samsung 960Wh pack and full suspension. The C29 carries dual batteries for 1,440Wh and a Shimano 21-speed drivetrain — a genuine long-distance trekking bike. The F26 Lite brings ZOOM hydraulic brakes and 26-inch fat tyres to the mountain-bike end of the range.

Read the spec, not the badge

Battery capacity in watt-hours (Wh) is the number that actually determines range, and motor torque in newton-metres (Nm) is what you feel on a climb — not peak wattage, which is the figure most marketing leads with. Every Duotts product page lists both, along with the cell brand where the manufacturer discloses it.
