Frequently Asked Questions

E-scooter rules vary significantly across Europe and change often. In Germany, private e-scooters need ABE certification and insurance and are capped at 20 km/h. In France the limit is 25 km/h on cycle lanes. In some countries private e-scooters are still not permitted on public roads at all.

Our scooters ship with a 25 km/h factory speed limit. Higher-output models are intended for off-road and private-land use. Always check your national and local regulations before riding.

Every range figure we publish is a best case, measured under favourable conditions. Real-world range is always lower and depends on rider weight, assist level, terrain, headwind, temperature and tyre pressure. Cold weather in particular can cut range noticeably.

As a rough guide, plan for around 60–75% of the headline figure in everyday mixed riding, and less again if you rely on throttle or ride hilly terrain.

Lithium batteries last longest when they are not stored at extremes. Avoid leaving the battery at 0% or sitting at 100% for weeks; around 40–60% is ideal for long storage. Charge indoors at room temperature, use the supplied charger, and avoid charging immediately after a hard ride while the pack is still hot.

Treated this way, you should expect several hundred full charge cycles before you see meaningful capacity loss.

All products at Xvelo come with a 2-year warranty covering the frame, motor and battery. Every unit is inspected before it ships. If something is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will sort it out.

About OOTD Electric Scooters

OOTD is our core electric scooter range, and it is built to span the whole spectrum — from a first commuter scooter to a dual-motor off-road machine. What the models share is a consistent recipe: pneumatic tyres, real suspension, disc brakes, and batteries sized well above the category average for the price.

Which OOTD is for you?

The S10 and SR1 are the city scooters: 1400W, 10-inch tyres, front and rear suspension, around 70 km of range, and light enough to fold and carry onto a train. The T10 and T10 Pro step up to off-road tyres and, in the Pro, dual motors. The T30 is the three-wheeler for riders who want maximum stability.

A note on the law

E-scooter regulation across Europe is inconsistent and still changing. Our scooters ship limited to 25 km/h, but the higher-output models are intended for off-road and private-land use. Please check what your own country allows before you buy — we would rather you asked us first than found out the hard way.
