Problem 1: damaged box or loose parts after delivery
The SR1 package is around 30kg gross. A heavy long box can arrive with cosmetic damage even when the scooter is protected inside. Photograph all sides before opening, then record the unboxing continuously if the carton is crushed, wet or punctured.

Problem 2: mechanical disc brakes feel weak or rub
OOTD specifies cable-actuated 140mm disc brakes. New pads and rotors need controlled bedding-in; cable tension and caliper alignment can also shift during transport. A long stopping distance reported by one 100kg tester is a reason to leave margin, not proof that every unit is defective.
- Lift each wheel and check that it spins without severe rotor contact.
- Squeeze each lever separately; it must not touch the handlebar before useful braking begins.
- Confirm caliper and rotor bolts are secure to the manual’s torque guidance.
- Bed the pads in using repeated moderate stops in a traffic-free permitted area.
- If rubbing or weak braking remains, have a competent technician align the caliper and set cable tension.
Problem 3: the battery indicator drops fast near empty
An independent reviewer reported that the bars seemed calm early in the ride and then fell quickly near the end. That can happen because a simple voltage-based display is not a laboratory state-of-charge meter. Load, hills and temperature influence the reading.
Fix the planning problem: fully charge, ride a repeatable local route, note kilometres per bar, and turn back with reserve. If the scooter suddenly shuts down at high indicated charge, refuses to charge, becomes unusually hot, smells strange or the battery case is damaged, stop and contact support.
Problem 4: the display is difficult in bright sun
Bright-light readability is a known review criticism. Change your viewing angle, keep the lens clean with a soft dry cloth and use the display’s brightness setting if the delivered firmware provides one. Do not hold a phone or shade the screen with your hand while moving.
Problem 5: side LED or feature expectations
One verified owner review on the official store mentioned a section of side lighting not working. Test every light before the first ride and film the fault. Also note that OOTD’s current specification says Bluetooth is not supported; failure to pair with an app is therefore not evidence of a defective unit.
